The Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Youth Development, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon has donated food items and hand sanitizers worth thousands of naira to the people of Ughelli South local government to cushion and curtail the spread Coronavirus pandemic in the state
Prince Sony who expressed optimism for the cure of the deadly disease, disclosed that the Nigeria Medical Association NMA, Scientists, Microbiologists and Laboratory experts are working tirelessly in union with other doctors all over the world.
He said, “This problem by the grace of God will soon be over. God will definitely inspire our doctors to discover the vaccine that will put a permanent cure to the Covid-19”.
“As you can see, I have brought this food items which is the little I can offer to cushion the effects and palpable hunger the stay at home order will cost the people. It is just a palliative to the most vulnerable in our midst”.
On the stay at home order by the Delta State Governor, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon affirmed that it is the best step taken by the Governor and it is for good interest of Deltans.
” Though it may be biting at this moment, but it is better to stay alive than to die of Coronavirus.
“The reason i am doing this is to support my people in the area food which is very sacrosanct at this moment”.
Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon however called on other well meaning individuals, cooperation bodies and churches from Ughelli South to assist the aged, widows, widowers and the vulnerable in the local government.
The Special Assistant thanked the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his proactive measures, saying; that the coronavirus is giving him a sleepless night.
“I commend the people of Ughelli South and Deltans in particular for obeying the government directive to be indoors for the short period as part of measures to wade of the dreaded virus from the State.
Receiving the the items, Mr. Francis Akatika youth president in Ughelli South and Hon. Happy Gbeke assured the donor that the items will be distributed evenly to the most vulnerable people of the local government.
